Raised Shower Tray Installation: Coordinate Legs, Panel and Waste Access
Short answer: a raised shower tray is not only a tray on legs. The leg positions, clamps, floor fixings, panel, waste route, access and enclosure edge must operate as one model-specific system.
Raising the tray can create drainage space, but it also changes the entry height, lateral restraint, panel service route and the load path into the floor.

Control height from the finished floor
Record the finished floor-to-tray-rim dimension, not only the leg extension. Include floor finish, tray depth, waste projection, pipe fall, panel overlap and enclosure threshold. A height change that solves the waste can still create a poor entry step or an unworkable panel.
Do not improvise leg positions
Legs and brackets are part of the engineered support route. Moving a leg around pipework may create an unsupported zone or uneven load. Use only an approved offset adaptor or revised layout for that system. If pipes conflict, redesign the route before fixing the tray.
Make the panel serviceable
- Identify which joint or component will need future access.
- Confirm the panel can be removed after floor and wall finishes are complete.
- Keep clips and battens clear of pipework and leg adjustment.
- Define where silicone is removable and where a permanent waterproof junction is required.
- Photograph the final concealed arrangement and label spare parts.
A panel that is theoretically removable but trapped by skirting, flooring or an enclosure profile is not useful service access.
Handover checks
- No rocking, local flex or leg movement under the approved check.
- Tray rim and enclosure landing meet the specified geometry.
- Waste and overflow path remain dry during the agreed test.
- Panel sits securely without becoming a structural support.
- Panel removal route is demonstrated before sealing.
A small site case
The installer shifts one leg 70 mm to clear a horizontal pipe and shortens the front panel around a fitting. The tray looks acceptable until a user loads the corner. The correct response is not to add a loose block. Quarantine the assembly, compare it with the approved leg layout and obtain a system-specific correction.
